Please take a bit to browse our site. We have a lot of good info and spend a lot of time researching Newf info and trying to make this site as informative as possible.
We feel an informed Newf owner makes better decisions on medical care, grooming, feeding etc, so please take advantage of the chance to look over our site if you are considering adding a Newfoundland to the family.

If you have any suggestions to improve our site, please email us.

Our pups are $1500.

Shipping is available for an additional $350-400 for pups under 12 weeks.
We will be able to give you an accurate shipping quote once we find out which airport you are going to, and which airline will be flying your pup. As a general rule, if your pup can fly to you via American Air, it will be in the $350 range. If we have to use Delta to get your pup to you, it will be in the $400 range. We dont know why Delta is higher, but they are!!!
Pups older than 12 weeks can sometimes run more to ship depending on size and weight.

All potential puppy buyers are screened before a puppy is placed.

As responssible Newfoundland breeders, and to ensure that our pups go to the best possible homes, pet puppies are sold ONLY on spay/neuter contracts with AKC Limited Registration.
An AKC Limited Reg puppy means you have a pure bred AKC registerred Newfoundland that can participate in all AKC sanctioned events EXCEPT showing. They can participate (and are encouraged to participate!!!)  in Obedience, Agility, Water Work, Carting/Drafting, Search and Rescue, Therapy etc.
Also, Limited Reg dogs do not have breeding rights.

Responsible Newfoundland breeders always do the necessary health checks on the adults before breeding. All of our adults are Penn-Hip screened and Heart Certified by a Canine Cardiologist. In addition, we have a full thyroid panel run on both parents annually to make sure no thyroid problems are cropping up. All of our dogs are DNA tested for their cystinuria status, or are cystinuria clear by parentage, and our lines are free of carriers and affected.

Generally, we have blacks , although we do sometimes have Landseers, depending on the breeding choices made.

Our pups are at least 10 weeks old before leaving for their new homes, sometimes we have pups that arent ready to be away from Mom and littermates until they are 10 weeks, and we have the occasinal pup that does better waiting until 12 weeks.
While most Newfoundland breeders consider their pups ready to go once they are eating solid food, we feel that maturity and socialization level is a better indicator.
We DO understand that you want your pup as soon as possible, however, we know that if your puppy is truly ready to be away from Mom and littermates, it will be better adjusted and you will have an easier time with him or her.

Before they join their new families,  Cedar Valley pups are examined by our vet , vaccinated by our vet, wormed  and also SAS screened by a certified Vet Cardiologist. No Cedar Valley pup leaves our care to go to their new family until our Cardiologist gives the OK.

SAS (sub aortic stenosis) is a heart defect that Newfoundlands are predisposed to. SAS occurs in all lines of Newfoundlands, and parents clear of SAS can produce it in their puppies. SAS can run the gamut from mild (no health problems and no shortened lifespan) to severe (severe health issues and most dogs die before age 3). The best way to protect against SAS in Newfs is to have all adults screened by a Vet Cardiologist before breeding, and to have all pups screened by a Vet Cardiologist at 9 weeks of age or older.

If you receive your puppy at 10 weeks of age, he will still need to get a minimum of 2 more booster vaccinations as well as his Rabies vaccination.
Our vets prefer a vaccination schedule of 8, 12 and 16 weeks. Some vets prefer vaccinations every 3 weeks. We recommend that you follow your vets vaccination protocol.
Ages for Rabies vaccinations differ from state to state, but are generally required by law between 12-16 weeks of age.

We also have an informative QUIZ you can take to see how much you know about Newfoundlands, especially Newfoundland pups!!! Its a short quiz, and fun. Click HERE to take it.

Thank you for visiting our site. We invite you to browse as long as you like.

Whether you purchase your Newfoundland from us or from someone else, we implore you PLEASE do not patronize a puppy mill or pet shop.

If we dont have a pup available and you dont want to wait, ask us!!! We will gladly give you the names of several very good, thorough, thoughtful Newfoundland breeders you can check with. More than anything we want you to have the INFORMATION you need to make a good, informed decision before adding a Newfoundland to your family.

We require a $300 deposit to hold a pup. We are Verified Members of PayPal, so we are able to accept debit and credit card payments for your convenience..

LITTER OF BLACK PUPS EXPECTED END OF DECEMBER 2011
2 YEAR OLD ADULT FEMALE AVAILABLE-BLACK-CLICK HERE

Currently, we are doing some major restructuring of our breeding program. We will be placing
many of our dogs into very carefully screened pet homes. We will keep a few select dogs we have bred ourselves to help us reach our long term goals for our breeding program. As we achieve those goals, we will spay these wonderful girls, and they will continue on here with us as our beloved pets at Cedar Valley.

Our long term plan is to move heavily into showing our dogs, and into moving our breeding program into breeding predominately show dogs.
Make no mistake though, temperament and health will still remain our main focus and we will also have plenty of pups available for pet homes. Even the best breeders in the world end up with a majority of their puppies going to pet homes.

We know it will take a lot of hard work, a long time, a lot of money, and a lot of determination, but we are up for the challenge!

We are excited at this new direction we have chosen. Now that I have finished school, we have a lot more time to devote to our dogs. Showing has always been a dream of ours, but it has been extremely difficult to do while I was in school, so we are looking forward to getting out and about and making new friends in the show world.

If you would like more information about future breeding plans or the wonderful Newfoundland breed, feel free to call Mary at 314-437-5172, or fill out our pre-placement questionerre.

PLEASE NOTE: We both have full time jobs. I am an RN And my husband has a sawmill and also makes custom furniture. Although we would LOVE to be able to personally answer all calls, it isnt always possible. So....of you get our answering machine just leave a message and I'll call you back ASAP. We NEVER place our pups on the basis of email correspondance alone, so I look forward to chatting with you!!!!!

Pups will be up to date on all vaccinations and wormings, vet checked, and screened by a vet Cardiologist before being released to their new homes. Our pups are between 9-10 weeks before they are released.

All pet puppies are placed on AKC Limited Reg with a spay/neuter agreement.

All dogs used for breeding have had PennHip and/or OFA hip and elbow evaluations, are heart certified and are cystinuria screened. Our dogs DO NOT live out their lives in 10X10 kennels. We live on 15 acres, and have 3 large fenced areas where our dogs have plenty of room to run. All dogs are housebroken and have good manners, so all are invited into the house (although we try to avoid having them all in the house at the same time!!!!)

Our puppies come with a written contract and a 1 year written health warranty that covers severe hip dysplasia and hereditary life threatening disease or disorder for their first year. Just as an FYI...in our contract, you ARE NOT required to return your puppy to us to get a replacement puppy/refund in the unlikely event your pup would develop severe hip dysplasia or a life tthreatening problem.

Our pups are $1500, and we require a $300 deposit.
The first step to acquire a pup is our pre-placement app.You can also EMAIL or as always, feel free
to call Mary 314-437-5172. I LOVE to talk Newfs!!!
