If we have a puppy available for you, a $300 deposit is required to hold your pup The balance is due before the pup is picked up or shipped to you, but must be paid in full within 7 days of the time the pup is OK'd to go home by our vet.
We dont take deposits on planned or future breedings, preferring instead to wait until the puppy is already here.
Before a puppy is placed, we call and speak to their new family on the phone, usually several times.
If you live close, that is even better as you can come for a visit!
We like to get a "feel" for the families our puppies are placed with, and we're sure you would like to get to know us too!!!!!
We also have a fun Newfie IQ Quiz you can take if you want to see how much you know about Newfs. After the quiz is submitted, the answers pop up so you can see how you did!!!
Our adults are Penn-Hip screened for hip status, heart certified by a Canine Cardiologist, thyroid tested by our vet before breeding and DNA tested for their cystinuria status. Our dogs are all DNA cystinuria normal. When we use outside sires they must also be hip, heart, cystinuria and thyroid cleared.
We have a comprehensive health protocol for our puppies:
They are wormed at 2,4,6,and 8 weeks.
They are vaccinated at 8 weeks.
They are given a Cardio screening exam by a Certified Canine Cardiologist before joining their new families.
If you get them at 9 weeks, they will still need their 12 and 16 week boosters as well as their Rabies vaccinations. (Our vets prefer vaccinations at 8, 12 and 16 weeks...some vets prefer vaccinations every 3 weeks...we recommend that you follow your vets protocol)
Of course, if we keep them past 9 weeks for any reason, they are vaccinated when due.
We sell ONLY on Limited Registration with a spay/neuter contract. Limited registration means you have a pure-bred AKC registerred Newfoundland, but you DO NOT have breeding rights. AKC Limited Reg dogs can participate in ALL activities except conformation showing. They can do Water Work, Drafting, Obedience, Agility, Search and rescue, Therapy Work etc.
Our puppies are $1500
Shipping is an additional $350-400, depending on where the pup is going, and the airline we must use to get him/her to you. American will generally end up in the $350 rangle, while Delta will normally end up in the $400 range..Shipping into AK or HI will be higher than the prices quoted above.
If you are located in the Southeast US, we also have a Transport Company that delivers to selected states for around $200.
They are at least 9-10 weeks old before going to their new homes.
At this time we dont have any breedings planned.
Currently, we are doing some major restructuring of our breeding program. We will be looking closely at the dogs we are keeping for now, and making breeding decisions in the near future. Our plan is to move heavily into showing our dogs, and into moving our breeding program into breeding predominately show dogs.
Make no mistake though, temperament and health will still remain our main focus and we will also have plenty of pups available for pet homes. Even the best breeders in the world end up with a majorityt of their puppies going to pet homes.
We are excited at this new direction we have chosen. Now that I have finished school, we have a lot more time to devote to our dogs. Showing has alays been a passion of ours, but it has been extremely difficult to do while I was in school, so we are looking forward to getting out and about and making new friends in the show world.
